What if we prayed?

So today I was wearing my “PRAY” bracelet and I had someone point it out to me and say something about it being a good reminder to ME to pray throughout the day. I smiled and nodded my head, but in all honesty, wearing it doesn’t make me pray during the day any more than I normally would! I do know that this is not the first time that someone has pointed it out to me so it got me thinking that I needed to pivot my thinking. I need to quit wearing it as a reminder for me, but as one for every other person who sees it!!!

Imagine how different life would be if we spent our idle moments in prayer. Like the old hymn says, “Oh what peace we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer”

That got me thinking of a saying I heard once about how you can FEEL worry or you can PRAY….but you can’t do both!! What if we applied that to other feels as well??
You can:
Feel Anxious…or Pray
Feel Anger…or Pray
Feel Fear…or Pray
Feel Envy…or Pray
Feel Inadequate…or Pray
Feel Hopeless…or Pray
Feel |Insert your own feel here|…or Pray

Imagine how much calmer we would be, in traffic, in line at the grocery store…in LIFE!!!!

I challenge you to try it the next time you get a “Feel” that isn’t producing Gratitude, Joy or Love~and of course, pray in Thanksgiving for THOSE good feels too!!!

Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
